It didn't turn on the signal light both dash board and outside. It mostly works when I first drive the car in the morning then it fails after I use the signal light a few times on the same trip. Any ideal? Followup from the Pelican Staff: Sounds like a problem with the module.

I would confirm the bulb loses power and not ground. Then confirm the turn signal switch is still sending a good signal.

I need help plz on e30 relay k1 pin 86 has continuity ground. On the far side of the fuse board I hav ground only Brown wire going to the board in a white long socket. Could there be a leak of ground in the board??? Followup from the Pelican Staff: Could be an internal short. I don't have wiring for the vehicle to compare you results against. Comments: Hey there,I have a ti bmw,I was driving hear a noise and right at the front on the ground was a square cover with wwhite wires on top..

I did have a rip in my air flow filter, guy taped it up,could this have something to do with it,please help I love this car :. May 25, Followup from the Pelican Staff: Can you share a photo of the piece you found on the ground? Comments: i have a bmw i and my dash board will come on then go off and i dont know what it is or how to fix it.

May 5, Followup from the Pelican Staff: Start by checking for fault codes. If it is losing power, there will likely be a fault code set in the cluster. Prince A.

Comments: I have a E90 i This always happens when stopped and ignition is off. No lights and will not respond to remote. Its as if someone has removed the battery from the car. After about a period of a few minutes and sometimes 5 hours, the inside lights come on and then suddenly car responds to remote and is alive again.

Mechanics have had a look and are unable to say what the fault is. April 27, Followup from the Pelican Staff: You may have a parasitic draw.

You'll want to monitor the draw on the battery when the vehicle is asleep. I tried adding r, and the compressor clutch engages but it doesn't cool down one iota. With the car running compressor off my gauge shows adequate pressure. But as soon as I turn on the compressor push the snowflake button pressure drops to zero.

If I turn the compressor back off, pressure comes back up Any and all ideas appreciated as always. April 19, Followup from the Pelican Staff: Which side of the system are you on when it drops to zero? What are the high and low side pressures, compressor on and compressor off?

Comments: I have a i BMW I was driving and the dashboard lights turn of as I park and put the alarm the radio and ac lights still on what can it be. March 22, Followup from the Pelican Staff: Could be the lighting module or the dimmer. I would check for fault codes to start.

Then check the light circuit tot he cluster. My radio keeps turning on by itself when the car is off and drained my battery. I removed the fuses and now the radio is completely off. Though I have notice that my passanger side mirror isn't working and my alarm will not be armed unless I read close all the doors hard and then press the alarm button, even though the doors were never opened from before. Also the hats will say it's open in the trunk sometimes.

I am very confused with what it is but the problems all started around the same time.

So I fuigure it's the wiring or fuses. Please if you have any advise or knowledge about this issues it would be greatly appreciated. March 18, Followup from the Pelican Staff: You most likely have a few different things going on. Radio sounds like a bad radio, especially if you have NAV that is a known issue.

Can also be the NAV unit in the rear of the car, unplug the NAV first and see if the radio still turns on, if it does then it's the radio if it does not, it's most likely the NAV unit. My guess on the other two are broken wires Comments: Bmw E60 start but no power on the dashboard, radio, on-board and Ac also. All were not working. February 21, Followup from the Pelican Staff: Look for water in the spare tire area.

Below the spare tire on some models there are modules in Styrofoam pockets.

Those get full of water from the vents in the trunk and fry all the modules. Check this first.

Check for faults after that. Comments: Having electrical problems. Windows stuck down, passenger seat stuck forward, windshield wipers not working, no indication of turn dignals on dash yet the work. February 16, Followup from the Pelican Staff: Sounds like you have a k-bus failure. Are your brake lights on constantly? If so that is a definite K-bus failure. You will need to have the fault codes scanned, and most likely you will have a faulty ignition switch, but this is a complex diagnostic and one that might be cheaper if you have a professional who is familiar with BMW bus systems diagnose and repair the vehicle.

Comments: Hi there, I have a E36 sedan and all of a sudden the fog lights stopped working. I checked the fuses first thing- both OK. Then the bulbs, which I had replaced recently, both OK. Then the switch, which also tested OK. I'd really appreciate any help or insight which could be brought to bear on this Thank you! Really enjoy your site. You should pick up a Bentley repair manual for the car, look at the wiring diagram for the fog lights and check every connection and the relay.

In my experience it is not usually the relay, but it is possible. Comments: Hi there I have a BMW X5 diesel sport all of a sudden my radio fag lighter and indicators won't flash in dash board any ideas of the problem I have checked the fuses there all ok. January 23, I would grab a repair manual, use the wiring diagram to locate the common circuit for all three. You will find your problem there. Comments: I have a and for the past week it's been calling the emergency road assistance on its own no buttons pressed, no way to end the call.

Sometimes it will call 20 times in a row and other times just once. Got an appt with the dealership and they said yesterday that it's due to our carpets being so wet that we corroded the wiring under the car! They say that they tested for leaks and that all is ok so it's our fault we live up north where there is snow now, but we go to work and pick up kids from school They are charging us for the repairs and say that we need to 'empty our carpets' regularly again, not something i see done by others Does this sounds right to you?

Oh, by the way, it started a day or so after we went to the car wash Thanks for anything you could think of to help our case. January 17, Followup from the Pelican Staff: If there is a lot of snow or water entering the floor area, it can get to components. Especially if left wet and condensation builds up inside. If there are no leaks from the exterior, I would have to go with their diagnosis.

You can have a second opinion done for an exterior leak if you doubt their diagnosis. Might be worth paying for if you are convinced you are not filling interior with snow. Comments: I have a i E When I put the car in drive and move, the horn sounds and won't stop.

Comments: i have a 3 series bmw on the dash there is i car symbol on the front drivers there is a red symbol in the shape of a dipped headlight that wont go untill the car is turned off and the front inicater stays on any idears.

Followup from the Pelican Staff: Can you share a photo of the warning lights? It may be a bulb out warning. You can also check your owners manual for the meaning of the warning lights. Comments: Hi, I have a d 51 plate the stop lights will not go off and the wipers are going without the key in the ignition, the car will not lock remotely, any ideas?

January 3, Followup from the Pelican Staff: Sounds like a faulty footwell module. January 1, You can either drive it to see if resets, or use a BMW scan tool to clear the fault code.

    Tournament Spotlight

Unfortunately, due to the type of fault, you may need a scan tool to clear it. Comments: Hi, Weird electrical problem that is reproducible only with low temps. If I press the key FOB to open the trunk, it opens and immediately closes again after a second. Basically the time for me to get the physical key out of the key FOB and open manually the driver's door, the "car on ramp" lights on in the dashboard.

The engine starts, it just take a bit longer, I would say no more than 5 seconds longer.
